Because trends tend to come and go pretty fast, which can be somewhat confusing, you will find below a list of sports for which athletic knee-high socks can be manufactured:
- Basketball: usually unicolor (white, red, blue) with white stripes at the top, basketball knee-highs are now becoming even funkier thanks to Nike’s Elite model, which as a side note generated a huge market for crappy customized rip-offs … but that’s another story …
- Baseball: Don’t expect anything fancy here as baseball socks are mostly solid white, yellow or red with a couple stripes for the most “daring” models.
- Volleyball: because volleyball tends to be a girls sport, at least here in the US, designs can get pretty bold with bright colors, from big dots to leopard patterns.
- Softball: Also a sport popular with girls, its socks are pretty much similar to the models found in volleyball with big colorful designs.
- Football: Seen a “manly” team sport, don’t expect to find any colorful, funky designs here, solid colors being standard for football socks with just a couple stripe on the cuff.
- Rugby: Another boys sport with solid colors but the difference with football is that rugby socks usually come with plenty of stripes.
- Soccer: Soccer socks are more discreet, pretty similar to their football counterpart.
- Hockey: This sport is more of a mixed bag, some hockey models consisting in just solid colors while others are more daring with sophisticated, colorful designs.
- Lacrosse: Lacrosse socks are usually pretty colorful featuring dots, stars and stripes.
- Roller Derby: that’s probably where you find the most feminine – and sexiest – models, with bright colors (lots of pink and red), big stripes and funky patterns including skulls, stars, etc..
- Crossfit: These models can get pretty wild but the difference with roller derby is that they are both for men and women, which means anything goes from superhero to bright pink designs.
Last but not least, any of these models can be customized with a team’s logo and name.
